Getting Taneezy Rolling
Taneezy is an idea the Danielle (the owner of Urban Sun) and I have been working on for a while now. We are launching it in late June at the Vegas Tanning Expo and are expecting big things! One of the things we are doing is some custom designs for a few choice salons around the U.S. to feature at the show. This one is for Salon Bronze. They are a new salon with a great vibe and some good people. Their grand opening will have all kinds of goodies but I’ll stick to boring you with this one. Let me know what you think!
KiJs Café Logo Design
This is one of my newer clients I picked up through Design Perspectives. Design perspectives is a ridiculously awesome interior design firm in San Diego that has some really fantastic clients. Sure their website may make you want to repeatedly punch your self in the face but seeing as that they are way too busy melting peoples minds with their wicked interior design skills I doubt they care much. Be sure to go check out their portfolio or client list. Anyway… What the hell was I talking about? Ahh yes, KiJs! KiJs Café is on it’s way to being a quaint european style café in Fairbanks Ranch area. It’s in a fantastic location in a sought after little town home community that’s just ripe for a posh little café. So far all I have done is the logo and the facebook page so check back soon for some more awesome work!
Airbrush Tanning Video Preview
Yesterday Jordan Kirkham and I spent the afternoon filming an airbrush tanning demonstration at Urban Sun Tanning. Urban Sun Tanning and I have been talking about doing regular lotion review videos for at least a year now. The good news is we finally got started! I shot it yesterday with Jessica Meadows and slapped the final product together this morning with a cute Ratatat tune. If you’re wondering it was shot with a Canon 7D and a 50MM 1.4 lens. I had a fabulous meeting with Nate and Matt over at Brand New Box today. They are building an über sexy website for one of my new ventures Taneezy. It’s a collaborative project with the owner of Urban Sun Tanning offering marketing materials to other salon owners. Here’s a little white board work flow we came up with. I love this stuff.

Here’s a little campaign I dreamed up for Urban Sun. The idea was to stash eggs around the salon with raffle tickets and goodies. Every time someone comes in they have a chance at another raffel ticked and if they find the golden egg then their life gets immediately more awesome! This particular design happens to be only about 40% mine. I did a little experiment on 99Designs to see if I could find another designer that I could source some work too. Most of the designs I got were absolute crap, this one happened to be nice. I just changed a few elements up and made it Easter themed and BAM, it’s almost like I did work… If you have no idea what the title of this post is about I suggest watching this clip.
